Perovskite Coating

Our benchtop equipment is designed to aid researchers in the development of roll-to-roll compatible fabrication of perovskite solar cells on flexible substrates.

 

 



 

 

 

 

Coating on flexible substrates

The FOM Mini Roll Coater was developed at the Danish Technical University to mimic processing in a roll-to-roll machine without the high material consumption and upstart time requirements. It is a hands-on, precision instrument for slot-die coating any solution-processable material onto flexible substrates.

 

Application examples from the literature

In this article from Frederik Krebs’ and Hongzheng Chen’s groups at the Danish Technical University and Zhejiang University and published in October 2015 (DOI: 10.1039/C5TA07008B), the Mini Roll Coater is used to deposit the perovskite precursor onto a PEDOT:PSS layer modified with a self-assembling monolayer.

In another article from Frederik Krebs’ group published in June 2015 (DOI: 10.1002/aenm.201500569) the efforts of upscaling from spin-coating and evaporated back electrodes to fully printed perovskite solar devices is presented. The Mini Roll Coater is used to slot-die coat several subsequent layers including of course the perovskite active layer.
