The FOM Device Testing Carousel provides volume testing of organic solar cell devices in a precise and fast characterisation platform.
Precise and rapid characterisation
Used in combination with a solar simulator or other light source, the carousel allows precise, rapid and high throughput characterisation of large numbers of Organic PV (OPV) devices. However, the system is equally applicable to a wide range of alternative device testing scenarios, including OLEDs.
Flexible control allowing programmable user defined test sequences including light and dark IV scans, soaking and aging as well as adjustable test parameters.
HIGH CAPACITY AND THROUGHPUT
Capacity for 36 25x25mm devices. Other sample sizes may be possible – please enquire. Optimised IV scanning and calculation with Keithley 2400 series SMU. Smart error handling and recovery (e.g. incorrectly inserted device). Device design flexibility depending on customer requirements.
PRECISE CALIBRATED MEASUREMENTS
The setup provides integrated calibration diodes with in-built temperature correction and their own unique 2D barcodes for tracking. It comes with a range of calibration scheduling options, including forced calibration before sample measurements, auto dust removal from device surface prior to measurement and high quality gold plated contact pins with optimised signal routing. It can be integrated with the Mercury Device Database System, to manage and analyse device data.
HIGH DATA INTEGRITY
An integrated barcode scanner captures the 2D bar code label on each device to correlate data and eliminate user error. The bar code printer is included along with the required software and all raw and calculated data saved automatically.

The comprehensive, user-friendly software control package enables simple operation of the system. Detailed user and service manual provided.
SOLAR SIMULATOR INTEGRATION
The system offers control of shutter (voltage free relay, BNC connector), control of solar simulator power to maintain constant light intensity* and automated solar simulator shut down at end of measurement sequence for unattended operation*.

RELIABLE ROBUST SYSTEM
The system is built with robust, rigid casing and sub chassis, industry standard NI switching, high quality smart motor drive, maintenance free bearings, in-built cooling fans, gas strut supported opening cover, and interlock disabling motion when cover is opened.
